Our Story

Charles Education Bookstore is a department of Charles Education, previously named Ivy League Education Services,  which is found by Dr. Charles Zhao in 1996 when he started helping students in his spare time to enter highly selective colleges in the United States by improving their GPA grades and scores of  college entrance examinations, such as SAT, AP, SAT Subject Tests.  Dr. Charles Zhao, the founder and manager of Charles Education, is a famous scientist in Resonant Tunneling Theory, a lifetime educator and a professor.

Dr. Zhao has been teaching Physics and Physics-based engineering classes since 1982, both in the United States and in China. In China, as a University professor, his teaching method was awarded and he also served as a member of college entrance examination committee for Hebei Province. After getting his Ph. D in Theoretical Physics in the United States, he became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Research Council. Then, he has been doing research and teaching at North Carolina State University and New York University. He hold one US patent on design of resonant tunneling diodes. He also served as the keynote speaker and section Chairman for several international conference and workshop.  He was the journal editor of “Wireless Engineering and Technology” and also the member of technical program committee of IEEE WiCOM2012, Shanghai, China. Dr. Zhao has served as a referee for Applied Physics Letters, Physica B, Physica E, Physics Letter A, Solid State Electronics, and Materials Research. He has published more than 70 research papers in peer refereed journals and conference proceedings.

As you may already see that Charles Education is the only educational service company found by a famous scientist and lifetime educator in the nation. This organization has been doing well in helping students to achieve their academic goals. Indeed, in the past years, Dr. Zhao has helped more than hundred students in greatly improving their GPA and  college entrance test scores. As the results of his efforts,  all his students got 5 on the AP Calculus and AP Physics Tests.  About 97% of his students got 800 on SAT Math Subject Test.  While some of his students got 800 on the SAT Physics Subject Test, other students has also greatly improved their test scores for more than 260 point. In helping students to get a better score on the SAT Math, Dr. Zhao has developed a unique method that can help students to greatly reduce the number of careless mistakes. Hence, most of his students got 800 on the SAT Math test.

In order to help more students to achieve their academic goals and to get into the  universities they like, Dr. Zhao has also developed effective and efficient review materials. His students benefit from the materials in getting excellent scores of Physics and Math. Dr. Zhao would like to spread his success story and his effort to more students around the country  so that they may get help from a real expert and educator to write their success stories. Our Mission and Commitment

Charles Education bookstore’s mission is to provide high school students the most effective and efficient review materials for acing the tests/exams in their schools and that in all college entrance exams, such as SAT, SAT Subjects, and AP tests, etc. All review materials selling in this bookstore are evaluated by Dr. Zhao.
